And the pie goes to…
The winner of the first Summer of Pie “Let Them Eat Pie” contest is Michael Imboden! Congratulations! Michael’s name was entered into the contest by a colleague, so let’s just hope this isn’t some horrific surprise. We’ll find out when I show up with the pie.
I’d like to thank everyone who entered, I wish you could all win, but there were a LOT of you! Honestly, I was pretty surprised by the numbers. When I thought of this contest, I figured I’d get maybe 10 entries, and 9 of those would be my sugar-addict friend Scott. Clearly I underestimated the pie affection in this town. Thus, I’m happy to announce that because of the interest, I will be running this contest again (this summer? possibly), so stay tuned.
Meanwhile, you can watch the video of the official drawing and be assured that only the most totally rigid scientific selection methods were employed in determining the winner.
I'm paid to design websites, but otherwise I bake, cook, draw, write, knit, run way too much, watch a great many bad movies, repair things, and reluctantly practice amateur psychotherapy and medicine. Jack of all trades, master of none? Most likely. But I tend to be overwhelmed with the options the world offers and people usually end up with cookies because of it, so no one seems to mind.

I’m the colleague who entered Michael — we are ALL very lucky and looking forward to our Big Pie Day. Some serious Pie aficionados here. And Michi is always complaining I bring cookies for meetings but never make pies. I make Pies but just don’t bring them to work! So this is my response….

Dratz! I wanted me some pie here in big ole Los Angeles! Well, I’ll try again when you repeat. Now you can just torture me with the Chocolate Orange Chunk Treacle Tart and the Coffee Caramel Semi-freddo Espresso masterpiece…want…pie…now! :)
I won’t lie, it would’ve been awesome to deliver a pie to LA! And you gotta try the semifreddo, it was amazing :-)
